Bobbie Sue West

On Monday, November 8th, 2021, Bobbie Sue ‘Momma Bob’ McKenzie West passed away at the age of 85, at the home of her daughter, Tammy West Cox in Woodstock, Al. Bobbie was adored by her loving husband, Jimmie C West, They just recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. To know Momma Bob was to love her, and to be loved just as much, if not more, in return. She was a sister, who loved to sing, laugh and play, even till the end with her beloved siblings. A dedicated mother who showered her children with unconditional love and adoration. She cherished every moment spent with them. She had a gentleness and patience that mothers strive for. She never let a day pass without expressing how special they were to her. She expressed her gratitude daily to Tammy for taking such special care of her up until the very end. The perfect grandmother who never went a day without asking about her great grand babies. Her love for them immense. If you were to sit with her while she watched them play, you’d hear bursts of laughter as she threw herself back in her chair, chuckling out with joy with their every movement. She could watch them for hours, with eyes like a hawk, somehow dotting to each one individually all at once. She was the definition of humble and kind, while being so talented at so many things. Growing up she was an incredible ball player. Around town she was known as “Speedy”. She could steal bases faster than anyone. Raising her own babies, she always made sure they had everything they needed, no matter their circumstance. She was an incredible, self taught, seamstress. She made her daughters beautiful dresses when they were young, to their prom gowns when they grew older with patterns she measured and made on her own. She never missed an opportunity to compliment, and could lift your spirits instantly just by being in her presence. Momma Bob lived a rich life. Rich with love and gratitude. Rich with adoration for her Lord and Savior. She will be missed by so many. Bobbie is survived by her husband, Jimmie C West, her daughter, Tammy West Cox (Danny Cox), her son, Jim West (Kim West), her sister, Wanda Martin, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved dearly. She is proceeded in death by her mother, Johnny McKenzie, her father, Robert Earl McKenzie, her brother, Ronald McKenzie, her sister, Jerry Reach, her daughters, Sharon Wingard and Baby Jimmie Darlene West, and granddaughter, Kandise Hendrix. Pallbearers will be Danny Cox, Dan Cox, Klenzlee Hendrix, John McKenzie, Keith Reach and Jeff Reach.
