Brian Keith Lemley

Brian Keith Lemley, age 51, a resident of Woodstock, AL and proud business owner in West Blocton, Alabama, exchanged life for eternity on April 6, 2024. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clarence and Carolyn Lemley; brother in law Rick Miller and many friends that he held dear to his heart. Left to cherish his memory are his adoring wife of 27 years, Marcie Lemley; precious daughters, Caitlin and Callie Lemley; sisters, Cindy Miller (Rick) & Tonya Lawley (Brad); brother, Greg Lemley (Sherry), Jason Beams (Jerrica), Jonathan Beams (Misty); nieces, Kristi Lemley, Nikki Hagood (Michael); nephews, Chad Miller (Abbye), Bubba Lemley (Amanda), Koty Watts (Kayla), Jon Westin Beams, Jase Beams & Anakin Burrows; great nephews Maddox & Greyson Hagood, Coleson Miller, Aiden and Kaynen Lemley, Brennan Watts; great nieces, Haley Smith, Brooke Tisdale (Caleb), Brinlee Watts, Rayleigh Lemley; Father and Mother in-laws, Jerry & Barbara Beams; honorary family Melissa & Jeremy Wallen (Murphy & Madilyne); Christopher Lawley; Little Gene McKinney; Jerry and Kerry Deerman; Jim and Dale West; Gary Donner; Keith Whatley; and also a multitude of friends that he loved dearly. The measure of life has often been said to be weighed by how well you loved and was loved. Brian lived an immeasurable life. He treasured and was treasured not only by his family and friends, but also by the community he serviced with a welcoming open-door policy. Brian’s greatest accomplishment was found in his wife and daughters. He referred to them as “his girls”, they were the light of his life. His next joy was found in his family where he was always a consistent pillar of strength and support. Over the years, he and his friends have trail blazed a legacy of good times, that will keep us with memories to share for years. He loved and lived out loud, always looking for a way to lighten the mood, enjoyed a good prank, and full of constant playful mischief; that often left your sides hurting from laughter. Also, as a local small town business owner, he supported the community not only with his mechanical talents that he was gifted by his Dad but with a servant’s heart that gave back often and without expectation. The description you hear the most is “One of a Kind”. “Ain’t Scared” is a perfect description of the way he approached his love for speed that made him an integral part of the drag racing community. It all began back in the days of the yellow Monza, so many street cars, a few motorcycles that grew into him being a 4.70 Quick Outlaw contender for the last year with the Verge racing circuit. His girls followed right along in his footsteps. They hold close the adventures conquered with miles of Polaris ride memories with Caitlin, night ride dates with Marcie and teaching Callie all the ins and outs of drag racing. They are their daddy’s girls. Many a tire will be smoked in his memory, through his daughter, nephews, great nephews, racing partner in crime Shane Valdes and the Holiday Raceway community. Brian will forever be missed. Loved ones are drawing strength from the fact that he told anyone that will listen over the last few weeks that he was on a mission to lead others to God, where he is now resting. Services by McCalla Memorial will be held at First Baptist Church of Woodstock in the fashion he set, Jeans and black Polos. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9th from 6 pm to 8 pm with the funeral being held on Wednesday, April 10th at 1:00 pm. The final earthly resting place will be at Mt. Carmel cemetery.
