Dixie Jean Rogers

Dixie Payne Rogers, age 64 of Woodstock, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 5, 2023. Dixie was born July 14, 1958 to Hansel and Bernice Payne of Woodstock. She was a devoted wife to GB for nearly 43 years. From drag racing to doctor’s visits, she was always by his side and we know that’s right where she is today. She was not only a wonderful mother, but also a best friend to Amber and Bridgett. To Dixie, there was nothing better than being Grams to Alex, Ethan, Brylee and Jesse. Her world revolved around her family. She had all the characteristics of an angel on earth and to know her was to love her. Dixie had a caregivers heart and loved helping others. She didn’t always have a lot, but would give her last dollar to help someone in need. Even during some of her hardest days she was still doing for others. She took on the role of Grams to many that weren’t even related and always made everyone feel included. Dixie loved big and showed it in many ways, but food was her love language. Whether it be peanut butter fudge, a special bowl of potato salad without onions or a full home cooked meal for lunch or dinner, you knew she made it with love. When her grands spent the night she would make them whatever they wanted, including milkshakes for breakfast and didn’t care what anyone had to say about it. She would just say that’s what grandmothers do. Her grandchildren are blessed to have had her as their Grams. One thing no one can ever deny is that Dixie was always present. If her family needed her she was there. If her grands had school programs you’d find her in the audience. She was always one call away and we knew we could depend on her. When she left this earth she left a void that can never be filled, but we find peace in knowing that when we get to Heaven she will be waiting to greet us just inside those pearly gates. She is survived by her girls, Amber (Damon) and Bridgett (Johnny), three grandsons; Alex, Ethan and Jesse and one granddaughter, Brylee. Sister, Kathy Blaine (David), brother-in-love Duane Deerman & sisters-in-love; Lynn Hannah, Angie Walden & Jacqueline Kimble and many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. She is proceeded in death by her husband, GB Rogers; her parents, Bernice & Hansel Payne; her brothers, Clay & Cotton Payne; and her baby sister, Vickie Deerman.
