Gail Glover Dickinson

Ida Gail (Glover) Dickinson, formerly of Americus, GA; Bessemer, AL; Brookhaven, MS; and Ocean Springs, MS left this world to be with the Lord on December 8, 2023, at 83 years old. Mrs. Dickinson was born in Americus, GA on December 5, 1940, to Daniel F. and Aloise McMath Glover. She married Thomas Larry Dickinson on February 12, 1960, and together they raised three children. Gail was a very intelligent woman who studied business, finance, and insurance, holding various positions with several businesses throughout her lifetime ranging from payroll for Long Lewis Holdings to finance manager for three Gulf Coast automotive dealerships. She was quite proficient with various business machines of the day and her employers were quite complimentary of her skills. She and her husband owned Sav on Drugs in Brookhaven, MS where Gail handled the payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and buyer for several departments including cosmetics, jewelry, and gifts. She was later an accomplished saleswoman in cosmetics, automotive, and insurance industries, winning countless area, state, and national awards throughout her career. She was a loving mom and very active in the schools and community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas Larry Dickinson, parents Daniel Fisher and Aloise McMath Glover, brother Daniel Fisher Glover, Jr., sister-in-law Yona Lott Glover, sister-in-law Bettye Ruth Dickinson Mauterer. She is survived by her sister-in-law Carole Dickinson Stevens (Charles-deceased); children Rhonda Stringfellow (Thomas Dale), Cynthia Huesmann (Charles Frederick “Bubba”), and Thomas Larry Dickinson, Jr. (Laurie Yawn); grandchildren Charles Raymond Huesmann (Nichole), Thomas Alexander Stringfellow (Kayla), Daniel Blaine Huesmann, Travis Bryant Stringfellow (Ashleigh), Joseph Cole Dickinson, Victoria Gale Dickinson, and Thomas Luke Dickinson; great-grandchildren Lexie, Kyleigh, Mckenzie, Levi, and Carsen Huesmann, niece Marie Glover Cain (David), nephew Lott Glover (Kim) along with a host of extended family and friends. The family wishes to thank all friends who were and are a great part of their lives. They are also considered as family. Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 1:00 PM at McCalla Memorial Funeral home with burial to follow in Adger Cemetery.
