Jeffrey Lane Carroll

Jeffrey Lane Carroll, age 61, of West Blocton, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Known affectionately by many as "Gramps," Jeff was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, faithful minister, and loyal friend. He was the beloved son of Jimmy and Colleen Carroll and was blessed with a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others. Jeff shared 25 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Angie. Together they built a home centered on faith, love, and family. Jeff's greatest joy in life was his family, especially the time he spent with his precious grandchildren. Whether sharing stories about Jesus or simply enjoying everyday moments together, his grandbabies held a special place in his heart. He loved the outdoors and found joy in hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, working in his yard, and caring for his chickens. Jeff was also a devoted Alabama football fan. He never met a stranger and had a unique ability to make friends wherever he went. His warm smile, kind spirit, and genuine interest in others made him someone people naturally trusted and loved. Above all else, Jeff loved the Lord. His faith was the foundation of his life and guided every step he took. His ministry began at Parkwood Church of God, the church where he grew up. As a young boy, his Grandmother Carroll would say "here comes that preacher boy" God fulfilled that calling as Jeff faithfully served throughout the years, ministering to children, youth, young adults, and senior adults. He touched countless lives through his compassion, wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering faith. In 2019, Jeff was ordained as a minister through the Church of God, a milestone that reflected his lifelong dedication to serving God and others. In 2021, Jeff was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Throughout his journey, he never complained or questioned why he had been given this burden to bear. Instead, he trusted God completely and used his battle as a testimony of faith, strength, and hope. He encouraged others through his example and continually pointed people to the Lord. Even during difficult days, Jeff remained steadfast in his faith, demonstrating grace, courage, and a servant's heart. His journey inspired many and reflected the deep faith that defined his life. Jeff was also known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He faithfully served with Republic Services for 43 years, holding many positions throughout his career. He earned the respect of coworkers, supervisors, and friends alike through his integrity, leadership, and commitment to excellence. Jeff was a man of his word, and people always found it easy to talk with him. He was respected by many and loved by all who knew him. Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Angie Carroll; his parents, Jimmy and Colleen Carroll; his children, Jeffrey Carroll Jr. and wife Karly, Matthew Carroll and wife Meghan, Gaige Findley and wife Amber, Garrett Findley and wife Diana, and Emma Grace Carroll; his cherished grandchildren, Theodore Carroll, Isla Rose Carroll, Natalie Carroll, Sadie Findley, Eden Carroll, Ivy Carroll, and Emmett Carroll; his sister, Kimberly Jackson; his brother, LaBron Carroll and wife Valerie; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Opal Stanfield, and Alvie and Lochie Carroll; and his infant brother, Jimmy Keith Carroll. While Jeff's family grieves his passing, they rejoice in knowing that he is now healed and in the presence of his Savior. His legacy of faith, love, kindness, service, and devotion to family will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched.Jeff's life was a testament to God's faithfulness. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. Those who knew him will remember his unwavering love for the Lord, his dedication to his family, his servant's heart, and the way he made everyone feel welcome and valued.
