Larry Englebert

Larry Englebert, 53, of Green Pond, Alabama, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 22, 2026. Larry was a devoted husband, father, Pappy, brother, uncle, friend, and—above all—a man who loved his family and his Lord. If you knew Larry, you knew you were going to laugh. He had a quick wit, a mischievous sense of humor, and a gift for making people smile. Larry had a way of turning just about any room into his own personal comedy stage, and he never missed an opportunity to embarrass his daughters or give someone a hard time. His teasing was just some of the ways he showed the people he loved that he cared about them. Larry was affectionately known as the “church nut,” and he wore that title proudly. He loved his church and considered serving the Lord one of the greatest privileges of his life. He especially treasured serving alongside his daughter, Amber, in the music ministry. Whether he was in the sound booth, serving, joking around, or simply being present, Larry loved being with his church family. If you saw Larry, chances were he had a Diet Mountain Dew in his hand and an Alabama hat or shirt on. He loved Alabama football, enjoyed giving everyone a hard time about it, and could always find a reason to talk about the Crimson Tide. But more than anything, Larry loved people. He leaves behind a lifetime of laughter, unforgettable stories, and warm memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Anne Englebert. He is survived by his loving wife, Pam Englebert; daughters, Amber Maharrey (Justin) and Samantha Savage (Dawson). His dog Bandit ; Grandchildren: Annie Maharrey, Cirilla and Anakin Savage. Brothers, Donnie Englebert (Becky) and Stevie Englebert; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Larry’s greatest legacy will not be found in things he owned or accomplishments he achieved, but in the people he loved, the lives he touched, the faith he shared, and the laughter he left behind. Though his voice is now quiet, the stories, jokes, teasing, and memories he gave us will keep him alive in our hearts. We can almost picture him now—with a Diet Mountain Dew in his hand, an Alabama shirt on his back, and a joke ready to tell. Larry was loved deeply, will be missed tremendously, and will never be forgotten. In Honor of Larry the family requests everyone wear Red/Alabama in honor of him.
