Melissa Layne Hathaway Warren, a beloved resident of Hoover, Alabama, passed away on November 22, 2023, at the age of 56. She was born on June 27, 1967, to Gary and Helen Hathaway, in the picturesque state of West Virginia. Melissa was a cherished wife, loving mother, devoted daughter, caring sister, and a dear friend to many. Melissa leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She was the adoring mother of Garrett Warren and Evan Warren, and the devoted wife of Danny D. Warren. Family meant everything to Melissa, and she took great joy in creating a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. A loving daughter, Melissa was the pride and joy of her parents, Gary and Helen Hathaway. She was a supportive sister to Lorilee Miller and a devoted aunt to Lauren Miller-DeWolf, Alayna Miller, Catherine Kelly, Tiffany Horn, Alison Browne, Christopher Morrison, Brandon Morrison, and Matt Morrison. Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Durwood and Vivian Hathaway, of Anmore, WV, and Helen and Raymond Vincent, of Bridgeport, WV. Although she is no longer with us, her memory will forever be intertwined with the love and laughter shared with these dear family members. Melissa was not only a devoted to family but was also a caring neighbor and loyal friend. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on the community she called home. One of Melissa's greatest passions was her love for the ocean and the breathtaking scenery that created countless fond family memories. Whether it was the calming sound of the waves or the beauty of a sunset over the water, Melissa found solace and joy in nature's wonders. Her family and friends will forever hold these cherished moments close to their hearts. In celebrating Melissa's life, let us remember the joy she brought to those around her, the love she shared, and the warmth of her spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A memorial service to honor and remember Melissa Layne Hathaway Warren will be held on December 12, 2023 at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home, 4780 Letson Farms Parkway, McCalla, AL 35022. Visitation with the Family from 12:00pm til 1:00pm. Memorial service starting promptly at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Metavivor.org in Melissa's name. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal beauty she so dearly loved.
