Thomas Wayne Criddle

Thomas Criddle 80 of McCalla, Alabama passed on November 21, 2023. He fought a long battle of Parkinson’s disease. His sons were here in Alabama two weeks before and spent quality time with their dad, at that time Thomas was in a rehabilitation facility and hoping to go home but, a few days after that he was rush to the hospital and passed away a week later. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother Berdie Holiday (Clarence) and Victor Criddle; sisters, Mary Lou Graham, Ruth Roberson, Erlene Jackson, Katherine McPike; brothers, Joe Ben Criddle, James Criddle and Ervin Criddle. He is survived by his wife, his sons and Grandchildren , Barbara Criddle of McCalla, AL, Joe Criddle of Centenntial, CO, Bob Criddle (Amee) of Vacaville, CA ; grand Kids, Jessica Switzer with her sons Jayden Cass and Jackson Annis, Sam Criddle, Halie Marie Criddle and her son Landon . He is also survived by his only sister Sara Allen (Joe), numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas also left behind his sister in laws Elaine Ross (Tommy) Annette Butler (Philip) and many extended family members. Thomas was born to Berdie and Victor Criddle on June 13,1943 in Houston, Ms. When Thomas was 4 his family moved to Brinkley, Ark. Thomas moved to California worked at Travis AFB and retired from there in 1996 after 35 years. After retiring he moved to back to Alabama in 2002. Then in 2003 he met and married Barbara. They built their home in 2006 and shared their lives together with their dog Missy until his passing. Barbara was his person and they shared many good years together with lots of good memories. Thomas most prized dog as we all know was his boxer Rocky. On his visits to California, he would go and visit the Pet Cemetery where Rocky has been cared for all this time and continue to be. Thomas made several trips to California over the years visiting sisters and family out there. He was a very talented man. Some of his projects he made were swings that are still being used. Most remember his plastic clear balls he made for Christmas. Along with that he was a very handy with roofs, add on to houses and auto repair. In his later years he became the neighbors grass cutter when the need is there. Thomas was a family man and even with him here in Alabama his heart and most of his life was in California. Thomas always wanted to come back to Alabama to be with his family and now that is where he will be resting in peace at Green Pond Cemetery. He will always be loved and so missed.
