Charles Watson Thomas, 1932-2021. He was born in Bessemer, AL. He was a graduate of Auburn University and member of Rock Mountain Lakes Baptist Church. He worked in the steel industry for over 3 decades. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Thomas; parents Paul Brown & Annie Thomas; brother, John Paul Thomas; sisters Ida Mae Thomas Tucker (Jim) & Ella Jeanne Thomas Lazenby (Jesse Gordon). He is survived by brother, David Brown Thomas (Donna); sons Steve Thomas (Beth) & Barry Thomas; daughters Kim Thomas & Ginger Bendall (Ray); grandchildren, Amy and Allison Bendall; step grandchildren, Amy Vickery, Randy Vickery (Bernadette), Lindsay Deason (Jamie); great step grandchildren, Tannah, Brock and Gabe Deason, Maegan Vickery, Isabel Foster, John Mangaliman and Angelica Mangaliman; great great grandchildren, Zoe & Sebastian Foster; family friends, Tonya Levya & Terry White, Pumpkin (neighborhood cat). Charles and Betty were happily married for 56 years. As a Christian, he served the Lord in many churches since he lived in several states. While in Nashville he established the Tennessee chapter of Fishers of Men. In Hoover, he served the community through the Food Bank at Green Valley Baptist Church. He was proud to have served his country as an Army Ranger. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing.
