Courtney Haynes Harris

Courtney Haynes Harris, 26, was called home by our Lord on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Courtney was a miracle from God who loved everyone, and greeted all with that same genuine great smile! Courtney lived life to the fullest, was a ray of sunshine everywhere she went, and could make the rainy day seem sunny and bright! She loved her family, her friends, and her pets - anyone who knew her knew about her loved animals! Courtney proved all her doctors wrong by exceeding and succeeding in all she did. She overcame her fears of driving, cooking, and helping out with housework! She loved watching TV and movies, attending concerts, Facebooking, and Maw Maw Buck's fried Okra! She faced many challenges in her life, but was determined to overcome them, and did so with grace and kindness. If you knew Courtney, she loved you, and she knew when you loved her back. She attended Oak Mountain Elementary, Oak Mountain Intermediate, Oak Mountain Middle, and graduated from Spring Valley School in Birmingham AL. She attended Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, and Dyersburg Community College in Dyersburg TN. Courtney was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham. Courtney was married 3 1/2 wonderful years to her devoted, patient, and God-sent husband Allen Harris, U.S. Navy. They most recently lived in Atoka TN. Their next assignment was possibly California, and she was so excited about that adventure! She was a proud military wife, and cherished her role in helping Allen all she could. Courtney entered this world as a miracle from God, and she ended her earthly-life as a miracle from God - a direct organ donor, and blessings abound! Courtney is survived by her husband, Allen Harris; her parents, Donald and Susan Haynes; her twin brother, Brian Haynes, and Sister-In-Law Claire Haynes; her Mother-In-Law, Cathy Smith; her Father-In-Law, Dexter Harris; her grandparents, H.L. "Buck" and Evelyn Pilkington; Allen's grandparents, Bobby and Shirley "Nannie and Poppa" Smith; many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear extended family and friends. Courtney was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Florence Haynes, her Uncle, George Pennington, Allen's grandparents, Charles and Margaret Harris, and other loved extended family. Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 12:00 PM at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in Anniston Memorial Gardens in Anniston, Alabama. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be uncles Ronald Haynes and Phillip Haynes; Justin Haynes, Dustin Haynes, David “Tree” Osborne, Ryan Pennington, Alan Dixon and Robert Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be her uncle, Donnie Worthy and Rayton Worthy.
