Ms. Cynthia Nan “Cindy” Drummond-Nobles, age 58, passed away peacefully at Brookwood hospital in Birmingham Sunday morning in the presence of her family. Cindy fought hard and won her battle against cancer but was unable to overcome unrelated health issues. Cindy was born June, 7th 1963 to Kenneth and Wanda Drummond of Saragossa, Alabama. She was the middle child of three: her older sister, Kenda Drummond-Nicholson, and her younger brother, Jess Drummond. Cindy was President of SGA at Walker High School and Homecoming Queen at Walker College. She earned a marketing degree from The University of Alabama and an accounting degree from Southern Mississippi. Her successful career path included employment as an accountant for Horne CPA Group, Laurel Mississippi, Senior Executive with Macy’s Atlanta, buyer for Parisians, Birmingham, and Controller for Baptist Health Systems, Birmingham. Of all of her notable accomplishments, she was most proud of her two daughters, Macy 26 and Maggie 23. Cindy was a wonderful mother, providing her girls with love, compassion, confidence, and kindness. Cindy was a devoted Christian, and served as a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, Alabama. She was known by her family and friends as someone, grounded by her faith in God, that they could depend on for honesty and clarity. Cindy will be greatly missed! She is survived by her daughters Macy and Maggie Nobles, her parents, Kenneth and Wanda Drummond, her sister, Kenda Drummond-Nicholson, and her brother Jess Drummond. A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 13, 2021 at Hunter Street Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00am until 11:30am. The service will begin immediately following visitation in the Hunter Street Chapel. After the memorial service, the family will travel to Memory Gardens in Jasper, Alabama for a grave-side service. That service will begin at 3:00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. (Memory Gardens is located northwest of Jasper on Highway 5.
