Forrest "Buddy" Franklin

December 31, 1951 - March 1, 2022

Forrest “Buddy” Franklin passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the age of 70. In his season of sickness, he made life’s most important decision to open his heart to receive the wonderful grace of a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Born in Helena, Alabama on December 31, 1951, Buddy lived his entire life in central Alabama. Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Kathleen Franklin, and by his sister, Peggy Gould. He is survived by Mary Franklin, his loving wife of almost 44 years. Buddy also leaves behind 4 children: Kelly White (Clark), Tansy Russell, Randy Franklin, and Christopher Franklin, as well as 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is survived by 6 of his siblings: Judy Goggins (Marshall), Ralph Franklin, Carolyn Burnett (Leonard), Raymond Franklin, Debra Shedd, and Jane Nix. Buddy is especially remembered for his love of children, the many animals he cared for as pets, and his enjoyment of the outdoors. He was a hard worker who was skilled in many construction trades. He loved to be home, to enjoy the company of people he loved, to show generosity, and to make others happy. He was blessed with a wide circle of friends and a large, loving family who will miss him dearly.
