George "Buddy" Lee Majors SR Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George (Buddy) Lee Majors Sr., age 81 of McCalla, AL, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 13, 2022. He was born on May 22, 1941 in Montevallo, AL. He attended Montevallo High School where he played baseball. He attended Samford University and New Orleans Theological Seminary. He was a faithful husband, loving father and caring grandfather. He was married to his wife for 57 years. He was in the ministry for nearly 60 years and served in the communities of Adamsville, Remlap, McCalla, Forestdale, Bessemer, Pleasant Valley, and Sandusky. He never met a stranger and provided knowledge and advice to anyone who would listen. He was loved and respected by everyone he met. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Majors, parents, William and Lucille Majors, brothers, Cecil Majors, Edward Majors, and Richard Majors, sisters, Jewel Goggins, Marie Shults, Shirley Maffel, Annie Northcutt, and Faye Rutledge and a very special niece he raised like a daughter, Rita Purvis. He is survived by his sons Lee (Yolanda) Majors and Greg (Julie) Majors, grandchildren Amanda (Stephen) Brown, Brittany (Jacob) Irvin, Madison Majors and Jake Majors. Rev. Larry Gibson and Rev. Joel Fredrick will be officiating. Graveside will be officiated by Rev. Etsell Riddle and Rev. Herman Pair. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00am at Grace Life Baptist Church in McCalla. Services will follow at 11:00am. Burial immediately following will be at Currie-Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover.
