Jimmy Delano Fields

Jimmy D. Fields, born Nov. 21, 1934, passed away Feb. 21. He leaves behind a son (Curt), grandson (Mason), and numerous nephews and nieces. He joins Nell, his constant companion and wife of 55 years, who preceded him in death in 2015. He served in the Army in the 1950s. He was an employee of the Alabama State Highway Department for 33 years and joyfully served as Minister of Music at various churches through the years including Valley Creek Baptist, Bellview Baptist, and West Highlands Baptist. He loved to sing gospel music and was quite a talented fast pitch softball pitcher in his younger days. The youngest of six children he was always quick to offer a joke and share a laugh. He was an exemplary man of faith and family and he will be missed by the many whose lives he touched.
