Kathy Milliron

November 27, 1963 - June 27, 2021

Kathy Jo Milliron was born in 1963 in Shelby, Ohio. Kathy went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 27, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Jon Michael and Nancy Ann (Silliman) Milliron. She was the loving sister of Kelly (Timo) Geiger and Steve (Kris) Milliron. In addition she was a most beloved aunt of three amazing nephews Brennen and Carter Milliron and Dominic Geiger. Kathy could always be found attending and supporting all of her nephews’ activities. Though Kathy never married, she was a natural caretaker of the family and had many, many friends. Kathy was an extremely active member of Christ Church United Methodist in Birmingham. She was involved in various activities including The Well House (for rescuing women from human trafficking), the children’s ministries and numerous other groups throughout the church. Kathy was also a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters for many years, even receiving a citation as Big Sister of the year. Kathy most recently worked as a beloved Hoover School bus driver at South Shades Crest Elementary School and in the deli at Publix in Trace Crossings. Her love of travel led her to many domestic and international places that included China, Greece, the Virgin Islands and most of the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska. Her travel was greatly reduced when she became the primary caregiver for her Mom over the past ten years. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 6pm until 8pm at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 2pm at Christ Church United Methodist Church. Kathy will lie in state from 1pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to The Well House through Christ Church United Methodist 5091 Caldwell Mill Road, Birmingham, AL. 35242.
