Margaret Mary Blake

May 16, 1936 - January 1, 2021

Margaret Mary (English) Blake, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother was born May 16th, 1936 to Margaret and Edward English in Pratt City. Margaret Mary died early in the morning on January 1, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Edward, her sisters Agnes Frey and Kathy Wages, her husband Marion Blake, and her youngest son Michael Blake. She is survived by her sisters Barbara Jones and Helen Jo Hudson, her brother Edward English, sons Chris Blake and his wife Laura, Matt Blake and his wife Tammy, daughter Theresa Vandergriff and her husband Leonard. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret Mary was a graduate of John Carrol High School. After graduation she attended St. Vincent nursing school until her marriage in June 1956. She has been a member of Saint Aloysius Catholic Church in Bessemer for 60 plus years. For many years prior to her illness she was very active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in support of VFW veteran programs. Needless to say, she will be missed by many family members and friends to numerous to list.
