May 26, 1942 - November 29, 2020

Mary Lou Likis Heis of Bessemer, AL passed away on November 29, 2020. She was born in Birmingham, AL on May 26th. She was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover. Her favorite pastimes include family gatherings, teaching, gardening, and scripture reading. Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Mary Boissel. She is survived by her husband, the love of her life, Phil Heis. Her sister Paula Wallace (Roger), her children Cindy Moss (Jerry), Alexa James, Christy Likis, Stephanie Mitchell (Philip), and Stacey McGuffie (Jerry). Her grandchildren Amanda Wright (Lee), Alex James (Rebecca), Paul Moss, Nick James, and Charrise Brown (Nick). Her great-grandchildren Michael James, Felix Wright, Jasper Wright, and Emma Moss. Her family was the delight of her life and nothing made her happier than for us all to be together. She loved each of us unconditionally. The visitation will be Wednesday, December 2nd at 2:00 PM, with a Life Celebration Service to follow at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Hunter Street Baptist Church, 2600 John Hawkins Pkwy. Hoover, AL 35244. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to missions at Hunter Street Baptist Church or Blanket Fort Hope. .
