Sue George, loving wife for over 49 years, mom for 43 years, and grammie for 21 years, passed away at the age of 69 Saturday, April 9, 2022, at her residence in McCalla, AL surrounded by loved ones. Sue was born February 16, 1953, in Mullen, Nebraska. She was a graduate of Ogallala High School, Ogallala, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lil Grafford, and is survived by her husband, David George, daughter Rachael Weston, son Matthew(Allison)George, brother Arnold(Helen)Grafford, sister Diane(Paul)Biggs, brother Tom(Kathy)Grafford, brother John Grafford, sister Nora(Steven)Deaver, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Sue worked for several years as a Special Ed teacher’s aide at McAdory Elementary School. She was a retired school bus driver from the Hoover School System. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader for 13 years and as a McCalla Youth Softball coach for 10 years. Sue loved spending her time in the kitchen cooking and baking. Some McCalla children born in the late 70’s and early 80’s came to believe that their parents had not provided a proper birthday bash if they did not receive a sheet cake with their favorite media characters hand drawn by Sue in colorful frosting. Over the years she had enjoyed many personal activities of a creative nature, lately, scrapbooking with her dear friends was a favorite. Nothing was more important to Sue than her family, and she spent her days making sure all were taken care of. Her generosity knew no bounds. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday April 21st at the McCalla Memorial Funeral Home.
